You also should download the patch files manually, here is a small guide:

Go to:
C:/Users/[username]/Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV Beta Version/downloads/ffxiv-beta/d96437e6/metainfo

There you should see your patches as torrent dl-files. If you started your Patcher and you're seeing the patch number, write it down and search for the torrent file.

Example for the newest:
D2010.09.02.2000
D2010.09.02.2001

Afte finishing, replace the downloaded torrent files with the .patch files in the d96437e6 .patch folder.

Now just start the launcher and patches should automatically install.

I know it says beta, but I did this for a few patches and it worked fine. I used Utorrent for my torrent program. I dont normally do this, mainly because it only takes me a few minutes to DL a patch from SE.

Yeah, mine was that way too, but I was uploading more then downloading as I couldn't connect to any peers. I don't mean for this to be the best solution, but it has helped me out on more then 1 occasion where the SE one was going slow as hell.
